Reflection
Experience
My experience in this unit was one that I did not anticipate at all, which was quite a pleasant surprise. Because I had absolutely no idea how to create logos, at first I wasn't particularly looking forward to participating in this session at all. Because I felt like I couldn't come up with any decent ideas, designing them was not something that I really enjoyed doing. I found it interesting to learn the meaning of various logos by seeing how others designed them for companies, but making logos yourself was a whole other experience. Despite the fact that this module didn't convince me otherwise, I still consider it to be one of the most enjoyable classes I've ever taken. Project 3 was the component that I really looked forward to the most since I found the process of developing collaterals to be fairly intriguing in general. In addition to this, I thought my colour scheme looked great, so the fact that I got to work on it made me very pleased. I would also want to express my gratitude to Ms LiLian for providing us with all of the comments and assisting us in developing as students throughout the module. I believe that a lot of the comments was crucial in pointing out to me the areas in which I am lacking and where I need to work on improving. In general, I'm glad that I was given the opportunity to work on these projects during the semester.
Observation
Observation Throughout the whole of this unit, I had the impression that I wasn't truly doing that well. When compared to my contemporaries, I felt like I was lacking in so many areas and that I had so much more to learn from them. That would lead to me attempting to do more and thinking about whether or not the things I'm accomplishing are appropriate. I get the impression that I am unable to fully access my own abilities and am unable to comprehend the value of the designs that I create. I believe that having the support of my friends has helped me become much more confident. It's not that I'm particularly skilled—there is still a great deal more that I need to work on—but I do believe it's time for me to start recognising the value of my efforts and the things I've created. Instead than focusing so much on how others will evaluate the process, I should probably make an effort to have pleasure in it.
Finding
I've come to the conclusion that I'm not nearly as creative as I'd want to be when it comes to designing logos. I suppose that's not exactly my cup of tea. On the other hand, I found that working on brand identity was enjoyable since it was interesting to see how a collection of standards, aims, and everything else could develop into such a large project. To tell you the truth, I'm finding that while this semester is really busy, it's a little less busy than I anticipated. There was a lot of work to be done each day due to the fact that all of the modules were completed during this semester. I've come to the conclusion that I need to reduce the amount of time I spend putting things off so that I may have a better organised routine. Because I don't always have everything organised in advance, there are times when I end up with a mountain of work to do all at once. Because of this, I believe it is very necessary for me to focus on getting my assignments and other things more organised.
