TASK 3A - Type Exploration & Application

I designed the font called "ASTRA" to show the name of the game style. The name ASTRA is a name I found online and I think it fits my subject perfectly. This name is the name of the game character, which means going through all the hardships in the sea of stars. This font can be used in-game products and web design.

REFLECTION

Experience

I'd say this 14-week experience was heart-pounding. There have been ups and downs throughout the process of completing this module. This module really taught me a lot. After learning this module, I am also more interested in typography. Also, I would like to thank Mr Vinod for accompanying us throughout our 14-week learning journey. I am grateful that I have learned a lot of experience and techniques from his advice and have "grown-up" since then. Last but not least, despite the stressful deadlines, I persevered and completed all the tasks.

Observation

During the 14-week term, I have observed a decrease in the number of students. Probably this module is not easy and some of them may not be able to handle all workloads. I also noticed that students have more freedom to create whatever they want in Advanced Typography compared to the Typography module. For most assignments, students can choose topics or work on ideas they want.

Finding

I found that probably the most difficult part of this module for me was the web design. I've been designing web pages most of the time and have been thinking about how to improve this design. Also, I find that many ideas come from our daily life. Since we had to decide what to do for task 3, I found that I paid more attention to the typography around me. After two semesters of typography, I found myself able to spot problems in "bad typography."
