FINAL PROJECT
INSTRUCTIONS
Week 1
Stop Motion Shorts
We were tasked with watching the stop-motion shorts and shortlisting three
of them, and explaining why we chose them (style, art direction, character
design, etc.).
#1
Stop Motion Cooking - How to make Fruit salad ASMR 4K Funny
Animation
Week 1 (1/4/2022)
When he cut the fruit, I thought it would be real fruit, but I didn't
expect it to be a dice. The color matching is very suitable, and the
picture quality is very clear. I like it very much as if our real-world
food is like this, and then he controls it. Timing and smoothness are well
controlled, and animations look seamless. Definitely one of the best stop
motion animations I've ever seen!
#2
Stop motion animation fruit and vegetables
Week 1 (1/4/2022)
The props used are fruits and vegetables. Although he transitions a lot of
scenes, there is no sense of incongruity. Although it looks very ordinary,
he uses fruits to make many other things, such as clouds, and there is a
small tree on the apple as if speaking of a world.
#3
MILK CRATE - stop motion woodworking
Week 1 (1/4/2022)
He was talking about making a piece of furniture. In reality, the process of making furniture is very hard, but he made a piece of furniture as if it was a breeze. The picture quality is very clear and there is no sense of violation. This is also true. a good video.
Visual Effects Shorts
We were asked to see Zach King's shorts and listed three of our favourite
visuals he made.
#1
Best of Zach King Compilation - Summer Magic 2020
Week 1 (1/4/2022)
I like that he conjured something out of space, I think it's cool, Zack King's actions are continuous, I can see that he has done a lot of work behind the scenes
#2
Zach King Magic Vines Compilation || Best Zach King Magic Tricks
#16
Week 1 (1/4/2022)
His video is about turning fruit into juice. I think it's cool and funny
at the same time. The visual he made seems to be like a water dispenser,
but it's another matter for us to watch it for money.
#3
New Zach King magic vines compilation 2022 - Best magic tricks ever
Week 1 (1/4/2022)
I was really surprised in his second video because I saw him coming out of
the house and driving backwards, but I didn't expect the house to get
smaller, the visual thing is really scary.
Film Study (Independent Learning)
Munich 2005, directed by Steven Spielberg
Summary:
The film follows Prime Minister Golda Meir agreeing to a covert operation
to hunt down and kill all involved after the Black September assassination
of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. A team of five gathered in
Switzerland, led by Avner, a low-level Mossad technician whose father was a
war hero and whose wife was pregnant. It was an expendable team but relied
on paid informants who tracked down and killed several people in Europe and
Lebanon. They had to constantly seek out the CIA, the KGB, the PLO and their
own sources. As the numbers increase — and retribution follows — so do
questions, doubts, and sleepless nights. Loyalty is blurred. What does it
mean to be Jewish?
Soundtrack
Composer John Williams
What a fruitful year for award-winning composer John Williams. He wrote
his final Star Wars soundtrack. He scored Steven Spielberg's summer action
film (War of the Worlds). He scored a period drama (Memoirs of a Geisha).
To wrap up the year, he scored another Spielberg film - this time the dark
dramatic thriller Munich. The film tells the aftermath of the massacre of
the Israeli Olympic team at the 1972 Olympics.
For the flashbacks involving the Olympic offence, two themes were used.
The first - a very sad Middle Eastern fringe Munich theme - is performed
in a Hebrew-sounding manner by Lisbeth Scott ("Munich, 1972" and "Memory
Munich"), along with oboe ("Avner and Daphna"). Another theme, which I
call the Black September theme, is a tense and sad one, played in a
deep-chord octave, heard in "Attack in the Olympic Village" and "Munich's
Tarmac."
The film's central emotional theme, which represents Avner's inner
struggle, is Avner's theme and is featured prominently in "Pray for
Peace." It is used several times on the album in various forms: full and
lush ("Bearing the Burden", "End Credits"), solo guitar ("Avner's Theme"),
solo cello ("Bonding") and oboe ("Discover Han s"). It's a very sad
subject that feels heavy and the more you listen to it the more you like
it.
Main Character
Avner (Eric Bana) is a Mossad agent recruited to lead a covert
operations team that will travel across Europe in search of eleven "tagged
targets" and take them away through various covert means. After Avner
connected with Louis, a Frenchman who made a piece of living selling
information, he started sending targets, and Louis kept giving names.
However, things started to go south as Avner began to question what he was
doing and wonder if the man he killed was really related to Munich. When
members of his own team were targeted themselves, Avner felt he had gone
too far and tried to back out before he and his family were hit.
Final Project: Stop Motion
Stop Motion Briefing (PDF)
In week 6, we'll decide on the type of video (visual effects and stop
motion) we're going to make for our final project. But for those of you
who choose animation as our speciality, I choose to stop motion.
Proposal
I chose to cherish as the theme of the stop motion animation because it
is a reality that I see many people will not cherish.

Final Submission
Final Submission Video (DISTANCE)
A within 1-minute music clip with a smooth stop-motion stream that tells the love story of two people. A couple faced the test of long-distance love, they all missed each other, and finally, they experienced many difficulties and finally reached the final reunion.
REFLECTION
To be honest, I think this project is really a big challenge for me, I have encountered a lot of setbacks because one of the reasons is that the things I shoot are not high-definition enough and the lighting is not enough, but I still remedy it. I still had fun in the process because I learned a lot of shooting skills and know-how to shoot this stop motion.
